Nanda R. Putty was born on 17th January 1964 to the famed artists of Karnataka late Raghoottama Putty and late Lalitha R Putty.
She took to painting as a duck to water. She was greatly influenced by her parents and grandmother Rangoli Kaveramma. She has also practiced hand-embroidery and has a versatile style in the traditional art ‘Rangoli’ and has won many prizes. One of her works in embroidery won her a national award and the title “Needle work princess” when she was just 15. She has to her credit many a group painting exhibitions and two one man shows.
Married to Sri M K Anil Kumar, she is working as a teacher in Vidyavardhaka School, Mysore and many budding artists of Mysore are being trained by her.
